Important things to be grateful for!

ree

How is everyone doing? I hope you all had a good Monday and are having a positive Tuesday so far. If some of you read one of my earlier posts on my blog regarding how to sleep better (if you haven't give it a read if you have a spare few minutes!), you will know I briefly spoke about writing something you are grateful for every day. Today, I just want to talk about the whole concept of being grateful and how sometimes seeing the bigger picture can change the way you see life in general for the better.

Being grateful for anything in life is something that we all do from time to time, especially when you are at your happiest and in a good frame of mind. But let's talk about when you are sad or low in your life, Ask yourself this while you are thinking about it, do you remember things that you are grateful for when in this mindset? If you are is no then it is a massive thing to admit as this can be very difficult to answer. I know that personally when I am really down , sometimes I forget what I actually do have that I know I should be grateful for. To be fair, even on good days sometimes we all can easily not really think about being grateful for the smallest things, this could be anything, from being able to have a glass of water whenever we want when we are thirsty to being about having a roof over our heads. I am not saying anything of this for anyone to feel guilty or that they are selfish because in our fast paced world, these are just things that we are so used to that we do not really think about it. Especially when we are feeling down, it is so easily to feel that it is you against the world and it can be extremely difficult to remember the things that you are grateful for. I do this too so you are not alone, and like I said this is not something to feel guilty or bad about, this post is here to help you all if and when you are feeling this way.

So, how can you learn to be more grateful?

As hard as it can be in tough times, take a moment to yourself and think about to yourself what are you truly grateful for in your life, do it now if you have the time, take as long as you need to with this, even write this down just like I have said before if you would like to. I find it is always better to do it this way. Learning to do this can honestly help for the future when you need to do this as you understand that your mind needs this positive thinking to help during dark times, that's how I see it. Think of things in general that truly make you feel blessed for. So for me, thinking out loud. I think about how supportive my close friends have been recently while I have been going through a tough time, my brother checking up on me everyday to make sure I am okay, these are just a couple of examples. These are things that I am grateful for and helps to lift my spirits even if it is for a short time, you need to do everything you can to help yourself with this, even if it just keeps you smiling for a short amount of time, that is much better than not smiling at all, right? Then that is a positive that you can also say to yourself, you have had something to smile about today. Making yourself smile is one of the purest things you can do for yourself. It is such as nice feeling, especially when you are going through the motion.

One major point I would like to make that a lot of people forget, is be grateful for you! You are a beautiful, amazing person who deserves the absolute best out of life whatever that may be for you whether it is your dream job, finding love, literally anything that would or makes you happy. It is so, so vital to appreciate yourself for the person you are. Never lose sight of this because I can honestly say it will help you through a lot more than you may realise. Like I have said before how would you treat one of your best friends in this situation? You would be as positive, loving and caring as you could be. Be your own best friend in this situation, this can take time to do, I am still learning to do this for myself but it will get easier for you all I promise. Like I always say, we are all in this together. Talking to others such as friends, family members or partners about what you are grateful for is another fantastic way to keep you in a great mindset too!

I hope you can find many things to be grateful for. I am so grateful for all you beautiful people reading this post right now and I hope it puts a smile on your faces just as much as it does for me when I post them. I wish you all an amazing day. Keeping smiling and be happy, you deserve it. Remember if you need me, I am here for you all. Love as always!
