Tips to keep motivated when working from home!

ree

What is going on you amazing people! I hope you are all keeping safe and well during these tough times! It feels like I haven't done a blog post in such a long time! (I mean it has only been two weeks!) But I have been enjoying posting podcasts so much recently so if you have been listening I hope you are enjoying them too, if you haven't, feel free to check them out on Spotify all the details are on the "Podcast" tab on the website.

I know this week has been a rough one for everyone. With the new government laws and even more restrictions being put in place looks like this will be the case for the next six months. Today I wanted to talk about working from home as we have been advised to work from home once again, I know this can be extremely hard and demotivating working from home again. (I have been working from home since March and have been really feeling unmotivated recently more than ever.) So I thought it would be good to give you all some tips how to keep motivated with work while at home.

Get out the house and away from your desk!

ree

While working at home, I know how easy it can be to just do your day to day job for 8+ hours and pretty much just stay in your house the whole time, I have done the same recently which I have noticed has not been good for me mentally. It is so important to remember, no matter how much work you have on your plate, you need a break! Just getting fresh air for a bit a few times during the working day is vital to keeping your head clear. Trust me it will make you feel much better and less stressed too. I will be doing the same a lot more like I was before.

Keep to a morning routine

ree

Keeping to a morning routine in everyday life is always good, even more reason to during this difficult time! Set yourself a time to wake up, set a time to have some breakfast or a tea or coffee and whatever else you feel would benefit you before starting work. Even if it is a rough time for everything you would like to do. This is something I need to get back into the habit of doing as I have fallen off a little with my morning routine. I feel waking up with enough time to be productive in your life before you have been started work will make you feel so positive and motivated before the work day has begun which is a huge bonus for you and a fantastic way to start the day!

Listen to motivation music or your favorite music

ree

As I have mentioned many times before and in a previous blog and podcast, music is a beautiful thing for us all. It can help us to grieve properly, heal, many others but in a lot of cases, help us to feel happy. A lot of the time when I do not feel motivated to work. I put on a certain playlist of upbeat music that really helps me tackle the day or I listen to motivational speakers on YouTube which also helps me to keep myself motivated throughout the day. Give this a go if you haven't do it yet, I really would recommend!

Catch up with colleagues

ree

It can be so strange not being able to see colleagues 5 days a week, especially with ones you are close with or good friends with. I make sure that I can call my colleagues at least a couple of times a week, not for work purposes, to just have a general chat and a catch up to see how they are with everything going on. I think this can be a good way to give your mind a short break and I find that this really does help me to feel motivated especially when you and your collogues are in the same boat regarding work.

Treat yourself!

ree

I have spoken about treating yourself before, but it can be really good to help you keep motivated while you are working from home. You could treat yourself for getting your emails down to a low number for the day, or for going the extra mile for a customer over the phone, anything that you can think of! As I always say it is good to look after and treat yourself. So give yourself even more of a reason to treat yourself for a good day at work! This has really helped me and sometimes will treat myself to a takeaway every now and again when I have had a busy day at work and have worked really hard. Treat yourself in any way you like, you deserve it!

I hope you have all enjoyed reading this blog post today! I hope this helps you all to keep or regain your motivation for working at home. I know how hard it can be as I have been really struggling with this recently too. But writing this post to you lovely people has really helped me to make sure that I keep on track with motivating myself and you all with working from your homes. I hope you can all enjoy your weekend as much as you can, keep smiling. And like I always say, Love as always and keep your head up.
